Jute, characterized by its silky texture, high tensile strength and resistance to heat and fire is considered fit for use in industries as varied as fashion, travel and luggage, furnishings to intricately designed oriental carpets and floor coverings, textiles and made-ups. Jute makes them all.
Traditionally jute has been used to manufacture packaging materials like Hessian, Sacking, Ropes, Twines and Carpet backing cloth/yarn. In order to overcome the declining market of these conventional products of jute, new technologies have been evolved for bulk use of jute, as a raw material in the production of high value added and price competitive intermediaries or final products. A host of innovative new products have been developed with high value-addition such as home textiles, jute composites, jute geo-textiles, paper pulp, technical textiles, chemical products, handicrafts and fashion accessories etc
These products for new, alternative and non-traditional use of jute are generally termed as diversified Jute Products.
Among the various diversified jute products, floor coverings, home textiles, technical textiles, geo-textiles, non-woven jute, jute reinforced composites, pulp & paper, particle boards, shopping bags, handicrafts, fashion accessories, apparels have the potential for wider commercial use and application. Twines, ropes, cordages etc. are used for the purpose of tying, knotting, binding etc. particularly agricultural commodities. Jute yarns of various dimensions are piled together to make twines as per requirement and use.
Yarn
PJMA specializes in the production of yarn for the carpet industry and is producing a diversified yarn count ranging from 6lbs to 40lbs
Hessian
Cloth produced here is woven with quality, focusing on the application and use of the product. The mill is producing 22 tons/day of cloth and bags
Sacking
52 tons/day of twill and plain weave sacks are produced and finished here under stringent quality control standards.
Twine
Jute yarns are plied together to make twines as per requirement and use. 15 tons of 2 ply, 3 ply and 4 ply of twine are manufactured per day.
